Shoebox Packing Party

The Sunday after we finished collecting money for shoe boxes was our packing party. The students from Zone 56 contributed the largest amount towards the boxes so the earned the chance to participate in the packing party. The kids enjoyed some pizza and snacks to fuel their tanks after church and then it was packing time!

First, the kids decorated the boxes with drawings and stickers.

Then it was time to pack those boxes!

Each box got some yummy treats!
Then it was checking time to make sure the boxes had everything they were supposed to have in them.

Here all all 44 boxes that we packed!!!
A special thank you to all of the kids of CrossWalk for helping to make the Christmas of other children around the world even sweeter!! Our goal was 20 boxes and we packed 44!!!

Attention Parents- OCC Postcard

CrossWalk Kids have done an amazing job with raising money for our shoeboxes. This coming Sunday we will be packing all of the boxes and preparing to send them out. But our involvement doesn't have to stop there. Your child will be receiving a postcard on Sunday that looks just like this above picture. On the back side of the postcard, you will find a box number. We ask that your family might pray for the numbered box that you receive and the child that will be receiving that box. While the toys and all of the goodies that will be found inside the shoebox are special, the most exciting part is that the child that receives the box will also learn about Jesus! Please be praying that Jesus will be making that particular child's heart sensitive to hearing the good news. Now here comes the even cooler part. We will be registering all of these shoeboxes online. When the box is shipped, we will receive notification to where each of our boxes went! We will then relay this information to your family so that you will know where your box that you've prayed for went to.

What a great way to work on loving God, loving others and serving the world as a family!

Operation Christmas Child

On Sunday, September 27th, your child learned about our new missions project with Operation Christmas Child. Here are just some tips and reminders for you as parents to help your child with this…

  1. Reminder- We want to pack 20 boxes that cost $25 a piece to send. Yes, that means we want to try and raise $500 over the next six weeks. Anything is possible with God’s help!
  2. Reminder-Each box will have fun and necessity items for needy children around the world. Some children may never have been given a gift before. Also, any child that receives a gift will also get to hear about the greatest gift ever given…Jesus Christ!!!
  3. Reminder- Each CrossWalk Kid that participates will have the opportunity to come and see the boxes that are being packed. But the classroom that raises the most money will get to participate in the pizza party and then pack the boxes.
  4. Tip-Encourage your child to pray for the children that will receive the gifts.
  5. Tip-Brainstorm ways that they can make money to give….maybe doing chores like raking leaves, cleaning grandma’s house…you can get creative.

If your kids missed last week, make sure to pick up the envelopes in their classrooms! We can’t wait to see what God’s going to do through our CrossWalk kids for other kids around the World!

Check out this new site!

Hey Kids,

How are you doing with getting into God's word every day? The Bible is our guide on how we should live our lives . . . so we need to know what it says. When you start back to school you can get busy with lots of other things and push your time with God aside. I usually like to read with my kids before bed, but I just found another cool way to hear more from God's word. When my girls and I sit down for breakfast . . . we go to this website and listen to Keys for Kids. Check it out!

Preteen Work Day

Seventeen 4th, 5th and 6th graders joined together Saturday at Michaux Manor to lend a helping hand. The students from the Extreme Zone helped to weed flower beds and plant Spring flowers.
